Description
KL-6 KIT is used for determination of serum sialylated carbohydrate KL-6, a new marker of interstitial pneumonia (IP). KL-6 is a sialylated carbohydrate antigen strongly expressed on Type II pneumocytes in IP patients. The principle of assay is sandwich enzyme immunoassay (EIA) that uses anti-KL-6 mouse monoclonal antibody as a solid-phase antibody and an enzyme-labeled aantibody. Following clinical study results are revealed in Japan; 1) Serum KL-6 value in Interstitial pneumonia patients are significantly higher than normal and other lung disease donors. 2) In receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, serum KL-6 value is best diagnostic marker. 3) Serum KL-6 value is better marker for monitoring IP activity. Serum KL-6 level in active IP patients are significantly higher than inactive IP patients. 4) Transition of serum KL-6 level reflects state of IP. This product is useful for Respiratory system / Interstitial / Drug-Induced Pneumonia / Thoracic study.
